Below are some of the key values that will be a part of the SEBC experience. These include: awareness, choice, and fun.
SEBC describes the value of awareness as “Distinguishing what is so and making a difference with the resources that are already available, without the need for changing what's so.” Awareness is such an important value in SEBC is to prepare the participants to “expect the unexpected.” In the business world, things can go amiss within seconds, and one has to be ready to face any fluctuations in the plans and respond accordingly. So by being aware of the situations given, one will be able to carefully choose the best response to the given scenario.
Choice is another important value during the 2 days of SEBC. Participants should be allowed the freedom of expression to participate in activities without restrictions. However, with the freedom of choice, one should be able to carefully decide the best possible choice from the sea of ideas. We believe that making good choices is an incredible asset that anyone can benefit from, from birth to death.
Courage is described by SEBC as to ‘have the courage of one’s convictions, to act in accordance with one’s beliefs’. Participants are encouraged to make decisions based on what one feels to be right. Courage is necessary to bring change and creativity into different projects.
Another important value of SEBC is Community. During the SEBC programs, participants will have the chance to be affiliated with various professional organizations, academic intuitions and industry publications. These are great opportunities to network with different people and share personal knowledge and experience with others who share similar interests.
Trust in SEBC is described as ‘causing a new reality that generates a compelling future that makes a difference – while appreciating the present and acknowledging the past – without being bound by the past and what is already present’. Trust is a crucial quality to achieving long-lasting positive relationships in the business world.
Last but not least, we have the ever important – FUN. While having fun, people cherish the experience more, and it makes time fly. Furthermore, it brings out the best in people – creativity, playfulness, etc. By having fun will allow people to think outside the box, come up with BRILLIANT ideas, and ultimately break through the limitation of business practices.
