Posted by Eric (Team Vertigo) Thursday, July 23, 2009

Up until this point, we have covered much about Special Event Boot Camp (SEBC) to provide our fellow readers with key information about the program. Our last blog post even explained why choosing Special Event Boot Camp is a good decision. After processing these information, you may be curious to find out more about the background and history of the company, namely Special Event Boot Camp, that is responsible for creating a flagship program that takes advantage of the newest, most relevant, and technically accurate training methods available to provide attendees with a unique experience outside the classroom. We have this information available for you today in a timeline format.

Special Event Boot Camp was created after many years of experience with academic schools, trade shows, and educational conferences both domestically and internationally. Its, founder, Carol Moxam, created this program starting in 2007.

2007 – Special Event Boot Camp was launched in August of that year. The program consisted of three days of event planning, management and production at Royal Ambassador in Caledon.

2008
– Due to popular demand, the host venue of SEBC was shifted from Caledon to Steam Whistle Brewing in Toronto. The two-day program took place on August 11th and 12th with 40 participants.

Fall 2008 – SEBC responded to request for more training from the market by launching a series of Breakfast Meetings which included 12 events. Further information about these events can be found under “Special Events Boot Camp” on Facebook.

Feb. 2009
– Special Event Boot Camp partnered with One King West and Leagues of Rock to produce an industry event with the name of “One King Rocks”. Over 300 guests attended this event.

March 2009 – Carol Moxam, the founder of SEBC and its First Sergeant, was nominated as one of Canada’s top three Event Professionals with Canadian Special Events Industry Awards.

May 2009 – SEBC hosted Open House for new Venue & Event Management Program at Trebas Institute

June 2009 – SEBC hosted an open social night for event planners to get together and network called “Meet us on the Frontlines”.

July 2009
– Special Event Boot Camp partnered with Power Unit Youth Organization & the E3 Challenge. This is where Team Vertigo of the E3 Challenge comes in.
